Artificial intelligence is now a part of everyday life, powering decision-making, public services, and industry across Europe. With this reach comes responsibility: technological progress must be guided by democratic values, public trust and thoughtful oversight. At the Institute, we take a capability-building approach, turning applied research into practical learning experiences that equip people and organisations to develop, govern and use AI responsibly.
We begin with applied research that identifies emerging AI applications, governance needs, and innovation gaps. This research feeds into training programmes, courses, hackathons, events and digital resources, translating complex insights into practical skills that can be applied in real-world settings. Over time, these efforts strengthen competence, judgement and the consistent adoption of trustworthy AI practices, helping Europe shape its digital future with confidence, competitiveness and sovereignty.
