- Personalise ChatGPT using custom instructions, memory, Projects, and Custom GPTs
- Apply strategies for producing high-quality long-form documents with ChatGPT
Syllabus
01 Basics of ChatGPT Capabilities and Prompt Engineering Introduction to how ChatGPT can add value in everyday work tasks. Learners explore when a simple prompt is enough and when a more structured approach is needed. They compare chatting and one-prompt strategies, and identify the types of tasks (for example, text, image, and data) where ChatGPT provides the most value.
02 Effective Prompt and Context Engineering Techniques A practical deep dive into three core prompt engineering techniques, including the RTF (Role–Task–Format) framework for structuring prompts. Learners also discover how context engineering works alongside prompt engineering to produce more tailored, accurate, and relevant results.
03 Responsible and Trustworthy Use of ChatGPT Exploration of the risks involved in using ChatGPT at work, including hallucinations, data privacy, and over-reliance on AI-generated outputs. Learners practise matching AI use cases to appropriate levels of human oversight and identifying which ChatGPT modes are the safest for working with sensitive data.
04 Personalising ChatGPT with Model Selection Overview of the models available in ChatGPT (for example Auto, Thinking, and Instant)and how to choose between them based on task complexity, required depth, and efficiency. Learners match real work scenarios to the most appropriate model.
05 Personalising ChatGPT through Modes & Capabilities Hands-on exploration of ChatGPT's key operational modes: Web Search, Deep Research, Analysis, and Agent Mode. Learners identify which mode fits which type of task, understand the difference between selectable and promptable modes, and consider the data privacy implications of each.
06 Personalising ChatGPT with Customisation Features Introduction to ChatGPT's personalisation toolkit: Custom Instructions, memory settings, Projects, and Custom GPTs. Learners identify which feature best fits different work scenarios and explore best practices for setting up custom instructions that consistently improve output quality.
07 Writing Long and Important Documents with ChatGPT Strategies for tackling the unique challenges of producing substantial, high-stakes written content with ChatGPT. Learners explore common pitfalls, discover practical solutions for maintaining consistency and quality across long documents, and gain an understanding of where human review and iteration remain essential.
