This session provides a clear introduction to the GPAI Code of Practice, a guideline for ensuring compliance with the EU AI Act.

Description

This session equips you to distinguish the legal regime that governs providers of GPAI models from that covering downstream actors who build or operate AI systems based on these models. You will understand how the AI Act’s requirements for high-risk and transparency-obligated systems apply to LLM-based AI products and services. By the end, you will be able to summarise common enterprise governance challenges and available resources to address them.

Learn objectives

  • You will learn about the regulatory implications of the GPAI models you choose to build with or use.
  • You will learn how to identify the regulatory requirements that apply to a given system, along with specific considerations for generative and agentic systems.
  • You will evaluate enterprise governance resources and best-practices suitable for their organisation.

Target audience

Individuals from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), start-ups and public institutions, in particular technical roles that implement legal requirements, stakeholders responsible for product compliance, and anyone responsible for enterprise AI governance.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of the EU AI Act is recommended, but not required.
