Description

Building on the first training session in this learning path, this session will provide you with a detailed understanding of the four risk classes under the EU AI Act, including the respective classification criteria. You will learn about the various roles along the AI value chain (provider, operator, importer, distributor, authorized representative) and understand the resulting obligations for your own organization. Using practical examples, you will assign specific AI systems to the appropriate risk classes and assess the practical implications this has for their development and deployment. The goal of the training is to enable you to independently classify the risks of your own AI systems and to derive concrete next steps for your organization based on this assessment.

Learn objectives

  • You can explain the risk-based approach of the AI Act and, drawing on the practical guidelines under the AI Act, determine the risk class of specific AI systems based on their intended use.
  • You can assign your organization the appropriate role along the AI value chain (provider, operator, importer, authorized representative, distributor).
  • You can analyze the implications of risk classification for the development and deployment of AI systems and derive specific recommendations for action for your organization.

This training is designed for compliance officers, product managers, AI developers, and professionals who wish to deepen their understanding of the AI Act's risk classification.

Requirements

Attendance at the first training session or a comparable basic understanding of the AI Act is beneficial but not required.
