About us
The appliedAI Initiative elevates Europe’s industry to become shapers in the age of AI, creating a future that we desire to live in. Through our ecosystem of strong partners, comprehensive programs, services and solutions we advance companies holistically on their AI journey. With our uniquely diverse, interdisciplinary, and driven team, we build on deep technical expertise while specializing in the applicability of the solutions. We share a mindset of collaboration and openness with our ecosystem of leading companies and tech players. Our common goal is to strengthen the European landscape, jointly creating unique knowledge for applying trustworthy AI.
Your mission
As a Principal Generative AI Engineer, you are a hands-on technical expert focused on architecting and implementing Agentic AI systems. You will design, build, and deploy sophisticated multi-agent workflows and autonomous systems, owning the technical execution from prototype to production. You set the bar for reliable, scalable, and impactful agentic solutions for our partners, and you guide technical teams to achieve excellent results.
- Architect & build: Lead the design, coding, and implementation of advanced multi-agent systems, agentic workflows, and complex RAG architectures. Focus on robust, state-of-the-art AI agents that solve real business problems at scale.
- Own the delivery: Drive end-to-end development of agentic AI programs and critical projects. Make key decisions on frameworks, tools, and patterns to ensure high-quality, production-ready code and systems.
- Raise the bar: Define, communicate, and enforce high standards for system design, code quality, testing, observability, and the guardrails and safety measures required for autonomous systems.
- Guide the team: Elevate technical project teams by setting clear technical direction, aligning stakeholders, and reducing ambiguity. Drive architectural decisions within the team, lead deep design and code reviews, and ensure best practices are adopted consistently throughout projects.
- Innovate hands-on: Proactively experiment with and integrate the latest advancements in AI agents (e.g., LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI) to continuously improve our solutions and technical stack
- Partner with stakeholders: Collaborate closely with delivery and client stakeholders. Translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations and roadmaps, and represent the agentic AI vision internally and with partners.
Your profile
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, with a strong foundation in software engineering.
- 8+ years of professional software/AI engineering experience, including 3+ years building systems with Generative AI and a strong focus on AI agents.
- Demonstrated technical leadership: ability to align teams, create clear technical roadmaps, and raise engineering standards through influence rather than formal authority.
- Expert-level Python skills and deep, practical experience with agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar. You have built and shipped production-scale systems.
- Proven production experience: track record of architecting, developing, and shipping agentic AI solutions or complex LLM applications. You understand the full lifecycle from prototyping to monitoring and iteration.
- Deep understanding of Transformer architectures, advanced RAG, and agentic patterns (e.g., planning, tool use, multi-agent collaboration).
- Solid experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and MLOps/LLMOps practices for deploying, observing, and maintaining agentic systems.
- Strong problem-solver who thrives in a hands-on engineering environment and can lead complex programs end-to-end.
- Fluent German and English required.
